G. Sarwar Sultani
Executive Director

Sarwar Sultani is the Executive Director of Simplify Global Education. He is passionate about utilizing technological tools for increasing global access to quality education. He worked as a faculty for the political science department at American University of Afghanistan from 2013 to 2016. He is currently working as an adjunct faculty at Monmouth University in New Jersey. He is also a PhD candidate at Rutgers University, concentrating on political economy and development. In 2019 he joined Princeton University as a visiting research collaborator. He completed his MA studies from University of York (United Kingdom) where he studied Post-war Reconstruction and Development. Sarwar Sultani has an undergraduate degree from Georgetown School of Foreign Service (SFS) in Doha, Qatar where he majored in International Relations and earned a certificate in American Studies. He is fluent in Dari/Farsi, Pashto, Urdu, Hindi and English.

Leslie Potter
ESL Instructor

Leslie Potter is teaching ESL classes at Simplify Global Education. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Smith College, and the School for International Training, Leslie has taught English, French, and Spanish to mostly university students and adult learners. She was a full professor and World Languages Department Head at Quinebaug Valley Community College and founded a state-wide organization of EFL teachers. She is an expert in applied linguistics and second language acquisition. To date, she has taught in the United States and twelve other countries in West Africa, East Asia, South America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, as well as various places in the Muslim World.

Wayne Schlegel
ESL Instructor

Wayne Schlegel is honorary board member and volunteer ESL instructor at Simplify Global Education. He is currently teaching the Intermediate Level at Simplify Global Education. A graduate of Yale University and Norwich University, Wayne has taught English to all ability levels from primary grades to university and is a winner of national teaching awards. Additionally, he has been a school principal, an English department head, and a Cambridge teacher trainer. He has an extensive background in student-centered learning, experiential education, and differentiated instruction with a specialty in curriculum and assessment. To date, he has taught in the United States and twelve other countries in West Africa, East Asia, South America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, as well as various places in the Muslim World.

G. Sarwar Sultani

Sarwar is a volunteer ESL instructor at Simplify Global Education. Sarwar Sultani has nearly 10 years’ experience as an ESL instructor. He is fluent in Dari/Farsi, Pashto, Urdu and Hindi. He started teaching English in Afghanistan in 2005 and later taught ESL classes at American University of Afghanistan. Learning English has opened educational and employment opportunities for thousands of people in Afghanistan. English language skills made it possible for to secure educational opportunities at some of the most prestigious institutions in Europe and the United States. Recognizing its life changing effects, Sarwar founded Simplify Global Education to make quality ESL classes accessible online.

Chris Young
ESL Instructor

Chris Young is a volunteer ESL instructor at Simplify Global Education. He has an MA in Linguistics from the University of Birmingham, UK. He has over 15 years ESL teaching experience in Korea, Afghanistan, and UAE at the university level. He has been responsible for the successful design and development of a wide range of English language teaching curricula including those related to: Professional writing, Composition, Engineering and Technology, Job Interviewing and Resume Building, and Pronunciation.

Sara Meetra Noori
ESL Instructor

Sara is a volunteer ESL instructor at Simplify Global Education. She has nearly four years of ESL teaching experience at prominent institutions in Kabul, Afghanistan. Sara is currently located in Afghanistan and has volunteered to teach ESL to Afghan refugees who have recently arrived in the United States. Sara is teaching a beginner and elementary class. Sara has an undergraduate degree in English literature from Kabul, University.
